About SalaryCalc.us
Independent, free, and calculator-first
What This Site Is
SalaryCalc.us answers one question precisely: how much of your salary do you actually take home? Enter a gross salary, pick a state and filing status, and the calculator applies the full 2026 federal brackets, your state's actual tax rules, FICA (Social Security and Medicare), and any pre-tax or post-tax contributions — then shows the breakdown for every pay period.
It is an independent site, free to use, with no accounts, no sign-ups, and no paywalled results. The calculator is the product — not a lead-generation funnel for financial services.
What It Covers
How the Numbers Are Calculated
Every figure traces back to an official source: IRS Revenue Procedure 2025-32 for federal brackets, IRS Publication 15 and the Social Security Administration for FICA, state revenue departments for state brackets, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (OEWS) for occupation wages.
We document the full pipeline — sources, the seven calculation steps, exactly what is included and excluded, and known limitations — on our Methodology page.
Who Runs It
SalaryCalc.us is built and maintained by an independent developer. There is no team page with stock photos and no invented credentials — just a commitment to sourcing every number from an official publication and correcting errors quickly when readers report them. The site is not affiliated with the IRS, any state agency, or any financial company.
Privacy by Design
All calculations run entirely in your browser. The salary, contributions, and filing status you enter are never transmitted to or stored on our servers — there is nothing to leak because nothing leaves your device. There are no accounts and no personal-data collection by the calculator itself. See the Privacy Policy for details on analytics and advertising.
Honest Limitations
Results are estimates for W-2 earners taking the standard deduction. The calculator does not model AMT, itemized deductions, tax credits like the CTC or EITC, or county-level local taxes — and it says so plainly rather than burying it. The full list is on the Methodology page. For decisions with real money at stake, verify with a qualified tax professional.
